Actually, in my wife’s case, it’s tea. She enjoys coffee, but she tore her stomach up at medical school.
She was studying in Miami, at Nova Southeastern before the Nova part. The cafeteria was right across from the lecture hall, and they served real cafe cubano in little thimble glasses — the idea, of course, was that you add the cafe to milk and slurp. Well, the students were in the habit of getting a brace of these, and downing them like shots of tequila, and then moving on to the next class…which may say something about the lecturers. Anyway, two or three shots of undiluted Cuban coffee — I think you can imagine the effect on her stomach (not to mention her tooth enamel).
