Simple really. Just about any will do but Folgers makes a good dark instant that I find works best and takes less since it is so dark.

I would imagine one could cut back on the milk and add a shot of espresso or very strong brew and get the same thing.

I really like this recipe. I tried it out the other day and it turned out great. I wonder if there would be any way to incorporate better quality coffee rather than freeze dried? I'm also a big fan of good Coffee as you can see from my new blog.
