Keurig Elite B40 Coffee Maker Review

Review in Coffee Makers on the Keurig Gourmet Single Cup Brewer - B40

I’ve tried several single cup coffee makers but actually have only managed to review two of them. One is actually considered a press while the other is a single cup brewing machine. I thought since I do have the Keurig Elite B40 sitting on the counter, I should review it.

Keurig B40 Coffee Maker imageDo I like it? Well, yes, I do but I have yet to find one that I want to tell you that I love and can’t do without. The main thing that I have a problem with is the coffee taste when I compare it with a full brewed pot in a different coffee maker. One should be able to love a single cup not just tolerate it. I exaggerate though. The difference is very small and only one who wants their coffee to sprout legs and walk on its own would notice that difference. It really is a bit more than tolerable. And with all the newest k-cups on the market, I am certain that you (and myself) can manage to find something to your liking.

Just considering the coffee maker its self, I do love it. It is simple to use and makes a cup quickly. I can have a fresh cup within a 30 seconds from start to finish with the water pre-heated and about 60 seconds if you have had the machine off and need to wait for the water to heat. And that is perfect if you are in a hurry thus making the taste tolerable. It is very simple to clean. Once brewing has stopped, you can just remove the k-cup and throw it away wiping up any liquid that has drip onto the drip pan. You’ll want to clean the k-cup holder from time to time.

The Keurig Elite B40 has 2 brew sizes: 9.25 oz. & 7.25 oz. and removable 48oz. water reservoir plus a removable drip tray. It weighs about 15 pounds full and runs on 1500 watts.

You can leave the machine plugged in in order to keep the water pre-heated. Been somewhat green-ish though, I do turn mine off for the most part. The only difference is you’ll have to wait a bit longer for the cup of coffee to brew. Also, there is the issue of those empty plastic k-cup empties. Those can add up over time but I am sure sooner or later I (or someone else) will figure out something useful for those. Not as bad as diapers I’d say.

The cost is affordable. About $99 through Keurig with a free 18 count k-cup package and FREE shipping or get about the same deal through Amazon (see image in review here)

I do recommend the Keurig Elite B40 and I wish you many single cups of coffee love. :)

Coffeesage.com still for sale

I still have coffeesage for sale. I had a professional valuation done and you can view that by visiting this online certificate:

Domain Secondhand appraisal for coffeesage.com

As you can see, it has been valuated at $29,000 without content. I am willing to make a stand up deal to some one that includes my content for a fraction of the valuation price.

Just contact me at webmaster@2tails.com if you are interested and give me some sort of idea what you have in mind. Thanks!

Yay! Got the old blog publish issue fixed!

I’ve been down for a while. You could read but I could not publish. After toil and trouble though, I’ve fixed it (on my own no less) and can now publish. I have a couple of pending reviews to publish (see links in upcoming reviews above) and then…. I am ‘yet again’ changing the layout. I am having a fit trying to find something functional yet satisfying for my theme. Plus, I need to upgrade my blog software. That could be a disaster. lol Hang in there! :)

Entry for “Fill in the Blank” $50 Blog Contest

Over at the great blog, Blogging with Cents they are having a really neat contest for a chance to win $50 payable through PayPal. It is a fill in the blank contest and I thought it would be a lot of fun. So…. Here is my entry:

It happened just about a month ago in Joe’s Big Double D Coffee Cup Cafe. I was just starting to sip on my One Size Fits All cup of coffee when I realized my cup was leaking on my shirt and could be seen. You have probably had that experience before. I felt embarrassed and obvious, and I knew that soon I would have to come up with some sort of explanation since I obviously was not pregnant. I was a little worried about that man standing behind me though. But then, all of the sudden, I saw the man’s hand coming right towards me!! I remembered what a cowboy’s wife had told me. It was very important to always hold your cup at arms distance and never spring a leak if you can avoid it. Before I knew it, I was given the tools and tips to coffee drinking for dummies by the man standing behind me. So you see, I really was at the right place at the right time, and I decided I just had to throw the rest of my coffee on the man who was standing behind me.

The End.

Thank you for the Contest! I hope I made you smile.

Older Women: Drink Coffee and Be More Alert than Hubby!

Okay, how about maybe staying sharp and less clouded in your thoughts than your husband? Research shows drinking 3 cups of coffee or even tea can help older women stay ontop of the thinking game. Keeps you sharp and helps ward off the dullness of old age thinking. Hmm.. but this doesn’t seem to work for men. I guess their caffeine-o-meter is broken.

Seriously, it just may be that:

“Men and women metabolize caffeine differently or that there is a hormonal interaction,”

Quoted from The Chicago Tribune on the Caffeine story You can visit and read all the particulars.

As for me and my feeble old mind, we will continue to scarf down more than the daily required intake of caffeine. :D

Just a word about revenue and this coffee blog

I feel the need to mention a few things about this coffee blog and how it operates.

First off, the only revenue that I get is that from Text Link Ads and the Google Adsense that I show and that is not a whole heck of a lot. I do not charge to review your coffee or coffee related products. This is the main reason that I require full size coffee when you send it for review. Please do not send me tiny samples to review. How can one test and test again when you are looking at a one cup sample?

I ask for beans rather the pre-ground. You just can not expect a great assessment from pre-ground coffee, though I have had some in the past to be quite excellent. The odds are against you.

I plan to put a donation type button up soon. I encourage you to use it if you are looking for a way to reward or thank me.

As for any coffee related freebies or samples that I list: I do not send these myself. Do not e-mail asking me to. You must visit the links I provide to sign up for a free sample or freebie.

Alright, that being said, I hope you have a great day and I thank you from my heart for all your readership. You all are the best!

A Coffee Review on Baggio Coffees

Baggiocoffee.com coffee bag imageI recently tried out a couple of coffees from Baggio I had the Italian Espresso Roast and their Gourmet Blend.

I will not be able to give you an exact test result about the coffees as sample sizes were sent of pre-ground coffee. One can hardly ever give a fair assessment on pre-ground but I will try.
