Java Coffee Canister — pretty!
Isn’t this pretty? I found this on Amazon while looking for a jar. I think it is just lovely and would maker a perfect place for our coffee. It holds 10 ounces. Hmm… I would like for it to be larger but oh-well, guess it would work well enough.
Coffee Recipe: Exotic Island Coconut Freeze
Exotic Island Coconut Freeze
* 2 tb Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut
* 1/2 cup half and half or whole milk (Silk vanilla flavor works well for those who do not drink milk)
* 1 tsp Hershy’s Special Dark or Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Syrup
* 2 shots espresso
* 1 tb sugar
* 1/8 tsp banana flavoring if wanted (just adds a hint of banana and is actually very good)
* pinch of shredded coconut
* 1 cup ice
Quite Simple Directions:
Be sure to let espresso cool before putting it into the blender. All ingredients will be placed into the blender and blended until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and top with whipped cream if desired. Also, drizzle dark chocolate for an added delight. Don’t forget to sprinkle the coconut shaves on top. Very simple recipe that is absolutely dreamy and delicious!
Note about product links: I only include links to products for my recipes that I find to be superior to any other. On the cream of coconut… you can get a less expensive brand but you’re going to know it once you taste it. Sort-of kills the fantastic flavor of this fine coffee drink.
You may substitute the espresso with 1/4 cup extremely strong coffee or 1 tb dark roast instant coffe though you will not get the premium flavor with the substitutions.

Joe’s Coffee Collars :: Protect Your Hands from Hot Coffee Burns
Joe’s Coffee Collars is one of the best ideas I’ve seen in a while. Though my photo leaves something to be desired, the little insulated cup hugger does not.
They come in assorted colors and designs (though I am not sure you can get this particular one now) and fit a cup ranging from small to large. Your standard tall, Grande, and Venti Starbuck’s models. Such names for cup sizes!
Anyway, these nifty, re-usable, insulated cup sleeves are made in Alaska and are state of the art insulate that keeps a beverage warmer, longer than neoprene. I can honestly testify to that. I love them!
They are trendy, attractive, and make a great conversation item. I would agree that these are enviromental safe since they are re-usable time after time. They do hold their shape.
Stop by Joe’s and give them a peak. They are reasonable at $5.99 each with free shipping in the U.S. You can also buy wholesale. I’ll bet you love them too!

Coffee Review on Zabar’s Emporium in New York
Zabar’s resides in New York. Here is a quote from their site and please take time to read their story. It is most interesting. The Zabar’s Story
Zabar’s is open 365 days a year and there is always a Zabar in the store. Today the store is over 20,000 square feet (almost a city block long). We have over 250 employees. We sell over 8,000 lbs of coffee a week and over 35,000 customers a week visit our store.
Zabar’s is not exactly a coffee shop but they should be. I’ve searched through their site and found a treasure chest of wonderful and delightful goodies ranging anywhere from coffee to their signature Fresh Baked Rugelach. You will have to check out their gift baskets while visiting and do not forget the coffee! Speaking of…..

A Couple of Coffee Tips and Tricks
Thought I would enter Daily Blog Tips contest. I read them every few days and missed the last one. Stop by and give em a visit. It is a good blog with valuable information and help.
Getting out a coffee stain: There are two ways. First off, as silly as it may seem, pour more ‘hot’ coffee on the stain and rinse out immediately. It should come right out.
Second, take baking soda and a tooth brush and slightly dampen the toothbrush. Dab the toothbrush in the baking soda and gently scrub the stain. This should also have a positive effect. Or you could just mix one teaspoon of white vinegar in one quart of cold water and put on stain to remove it.
A couple of things I want to touch on quickly. Steaming milk. For heaven’s sake do NOT get milk too hot when steaming. It will curdle in your espresso and also cause the foam to break down about as soon as it gets into the cup. #2 issue is cup towels. Do NOT place a towel on the area where the cups are. This prevents steam from being released on your espresso machine thus causing it to produce an over heated shot.
That is all. Hope these little tidbits helped some of you.

Super, Extra, EXTRA Caffeinated Coffee
Out of these 3 super-caffeinated coffees, I still LOVE Shock Coffee the most! But for your reading pleasure, I will certainly mention the other two so that you too can rev-up your heart rate and suffer heart palpitations. (hmm… did I spell that correctly?)

1. Shock Coffee
2. Rocket Fuel Coffee
3. Meth Coffee
If you are looking for a quick jolt then these are the one’s for you. I’ve tried all three and they all play their role well. Shock Coffee does seem to have the richest and freshest roasted flavor though and obviously that makes it more enjoyable but if you’re just after the caffeine, all will work just fine.
Older Women: Drink Coffee and Be More Alert than Hubby!
Okay, how about maybe staying sharp and less clouded in your thoughts than your husband? Research shows drinking 3 cups of coffee or even tea can help older women stay ontop of the thinking game. Keeps you sharp and helps ward off the dullness of old age thinking. Hmm.. but this doesn’t seem to work for men. I guess their caffeine-o-meter is broken.
Seriously, it just may be that:
“Men and women metabolize caffeine differently or that there is a hormonal interaction,”
Quoted from The Chicago Tribune on the Caffeine story You can visit and read all the particulars.
As for me and my feeble old mind, we will continue to scarf down more than the daily required intake of caffeine.
