Barnes and Noble Cafe

I noticed the other day that Barnes and Noble Cafe stopped using Republic of Tea as their Tea choice. They couldn’t give me a reason why either. Does any one have any idea why? I rather enjoy that brand of tea.

My guess would be that B&N Café is forming closer ties with Starbucks, and is therefore using Starbucks’ tea brand (Tazo).

No, it’s not Tazo. They have used Tazo for as long as I can remember. I am talking about the tea they sell on the shelf. It’s not the same.

B&N Cafe’s are serving Harney & Son’s Tea products (hot tea only) now. They are always looking for the best products and this new tea line kicks butt. Also, in my experience B&N cafe is not trying to form closer ties to Starbucks but is maintaining non-coffee product independence. This is a good idea in case a day comes that the partnership with Starbucks implodes. Product diversity would help ensure the B&N Cafe survival. In any case, try the H&S teas and you won’t be disappointed.

They did WHAT? Are you serious? I haven’t been able to make it to Barnes and Nobles for a few months, so I haven’t noticed. I can’t believe it! I loved that tea! The new brand better be like heaven on earth . . .

*sigh* I hate it when places change the things I actually like . . .

Well, I’ve yet to try it. Maybe this month some time. I’ll let you know how it compares. :)

When did they sell Republic of Tea? They’ve always sold Harney & Sons in this area (central Alabama) as far as I know; it’s Books-a-Million that is a member of the Republic.

Of course, I don’t necessarily pay close attention to the tea; too decadent for a true coffee drinker [prim sniff].

BTW, I found you originally via BlogExplosion; I’ve added you to my roll at the Mews.
