Colombia Quinchia, Shearwater Coffee Roasters

Shearwater Coffee Roasters’ Colombia Quinchia is a smooth full bodied coffee with fruity notes. It has a delicate cocoa finish which lingers on the tongue with a medium to mild acidity.

Colombia Quinchia is from APECAFEQ cooperative & Granja la Esperanza in Midwest region of Colombia near Risaralda. The APECAFE cooperative is a collective that supports efforts to improve roads and schools, promotes education about organic and sustainable coffee farming methods, and helps diversify incomes away from illegal cash crops.

Shearwater Organic Coffee seems to source most of their beans from smaller farms, and lesser know locations. They are a USDA certified organic coffee roaster, and do small-batch artisan roasting.

  1. I never like very dark roast as they tend to bitter my taste. The above one looks good and feels like a one to be tried.

  2. The quinchia has a nice body to it but rather strong for the regular Colombian palette. It is an robust blend and has a decent kick to it. Thanks for the review!

  3. While in London we were able to enjoy the Colmbian Quinchia coffee. The coffee is robust but not overwhelming. Where in the US can we be able to order this coffee? What we had was Sainbury’s Taste the Difference Fairtrade.
